Roch Armando is a young, rising portrait photographer, specializing in celebrities’ and high profile individuals’ portraits—a very prestigious and competitive domain. His career began by studying cinematography, focusing as a photographic light director, at ESRA (Ecole Supérieur de Réalisation Audiovisuelles) in Nice France. He won Best Picture honor on three movies required during his years of study. The final short movie he produced was selected to travel and be submitted to film festivals, garnering Armando awards in a number of international film festivals.  

After his tenure as a cinematography/photography student he moved to Paris from Nice in 2010 to focus on his dynamic career. Armando take’s portraits at major European film festivals, leading to introductions to, and work with, some of the most influential and highly-regarded current international actors and directors, including many from the United States and Europe.

Armando has now been working at the Cannes Film Festival for 10 years (2006-2016) in the capacity of portrait photographer. As well, he signed with CONTOUR by Getty Images, making Armando’s high-profile and highly-sought celebrity portraits available for distribution internationally.

He has worked with notable and influential magazines such as Glamour, Vogue, Express Style, Schon, and Rolling Stones among many others. And, he has had the honor of taking the portraits of contemporary legends such as Woody Allen, Bill Murray, Ewan McGregor, Malcolm McDowell,  and Michael Chaplin. Again, just a sampling among many others.  

Currently, Armando is working for reputable firms such as Jaeger LeCoultre (Swiss watches) for advertising photography, and Universal France and SONY France on music artists’ projects.
